The Next Best Thing Since.. Uhhh.. The Tangle Teezer18:12
I'm a huge fan of the good old tangle teezer and since getting one about 3 years ago I haven't even toyed with the idea of putting anything else through my hair. They're just so incredible at untangling matted hair, so much so that I've even used tangle teezers on my lionhead bunny after finding out that pet grooming brushes just won't do the job!
So when I was browsing the new in section on hairtrade I was ecstatic to come across the Tangle Teezer Blow Styling Paddle Brush, and just had to give it a go. You can get the brush in half or full size, I went with the full size as although my hair is currently not much longer than shoulder length I am growing it for the wedding so thought this size would work best in the long run. It's a hard plastic brush which is very sturdy, and comes with teeth instead of bristles like most normal paddle brushes. But they aren't any normal teeth, they actually help to reduce the amount of water in your hair, which in return speeds up your drying time, not only that but the sturdy teeth also help to reduce frizz which allows me to get away without straightening my hair afterwards - now that's always a winner in anyones books right?
I find myself still using my trusty original tangle teezer to get through my wet hair first as I personally don't think the new paddle brush has the same tangle removing abilities, but I'll definitely be adding the new paddle brush to my blow drying routine regardless. The rigid teeth seem to grip and hold my hair really well, which makes blow drying a bit of a doddle compared to brushes I've used in the past where my hair has either got tangled amongst the bristles or simply slipped straight through. Also there's barely any of my hair in the brush after drying which is a good sign as I find some others can rip your hair out in the process without you even realising! The handle is a great addition as the original tangle teezer can take a while to get used to when your first starting out, although you do grow to love it's unique handheld shape after a while.
It'd be nice to see if TT bring out different colours for the paddle brush like they do for their original range, although I was happy to see that it actually matched my sparkly purple teezer perfectly.
