A Moment That Mattered To Me

It's crazy to think that one of the biggest things to happen to me last year hasn't really been mentioned on my blog. So as a part of Lloyds Banks Moments That Mattered campaign I thought I'd share with you one of the most amazing things ever to happen to me.

As part of my final year at university I entered a YCN design competition to design a print for Goji @ PC World & Currys. I didn't think I'd win, and really I was only entering because we had to choose a competition brief for one of our modules, but I'm so glad I did. I put a huge amount of work into my entry, literally working all day everyday over the Christmas holidays, you don't get anything if you don't work for it! A few weeks after I'd submitted I got an exciting phone call telling me that Goji wanted to use one of my designs on their range of cases and pc accessories, and from then on everything was a blur. I ended up working with an amazing design agency who helped me get my design ready for print, and once it was released I got invited to see everything in store and have a little photoshoot and interview.

I still find it weird now when people tell me that they've seen my design in PC World, it just doesn't feel real! I also want to give a little shout out to the most amazing paper artist I went to uni with, Fung Yee, who also won a YCN award for all her hard work - it was great to see her at the big fancy YCN awards event down in London.

If you're interested then you can see more of my designs on the Currys website here.
