Gentlemen of the Road - Huddersfield Stopover

11:00

I was lucky enough to win a pair of free tickets form Huddersfield Students' Union for the Huddersfield Stopover of Gentlemen of the Road, and I'm so glad I didn't pass up the chance to go because it was an amazing day, even with the rain!

There were loads of acts during the day who were all amazing; Willy Mason, Nathaniel Rateliff and Michael Kiwanuka were amongst my favourites, but nothing compared to Mumford and Sons, and The Correspondents. It was nice to see Mumford and Sons, and seeing the crowd finally getting into the festival spirit and creating a great atmosphere (I don't think many people really knew who any of the other bands/artists were).

For me The Correspondents stole the show, they were on last after Mumford and Sons, and were dubbed 'the party band', a name they definitely lived up to! Mr Bruce, the front man, was so energetic, and bounced about the stage throughout their whole set, along with his crazy treadmill dancing too, and jumping into the crowd. Check out this video if you've never heard/see The Correspondents in action.
